Personal Childhood Web

Family: A girl call Cirel

Aunt Judith, mother Rosaura, grandmother Bertilda (keeping me safe and close) grandfather Gustavo, cousin Omar, and Belisario aunt’s Judith family car.

                                                  đź’ťCirel and mother, baptism memory

My mother! I treasure memories with my mother so much because she passed away when I was 8 years old, December 29th, 1988. One year after grandpa her father, dies. My mother showed me pictures and letters from my father, she did a great job keeping dad and his family live for me.

My mother was an educated, independent, middle school teacher, she taught me to read at early age. From her, I learn the love for teaching and education. Closing my eyes, I transport myself to our room, sitting in the bed with all her student’s notebooks and assignments, and a red pen, she allowed me to pretend I was her assistance teacher, I love it! Also, I remember the visits to her school, usually, she divides a piece of her board and allows me to write and pretend I was teaching at the same time she was. She was always looking for the best school for me. The last private school I went to, I recall she had me in dance classes and music. I remember loving the time I spend with her.
She tried her best to make me feel special.

Cirel and Father

My Father! Harrison Thomas Hoover
He passed away when I was 3 years old.
An expert piano tuner
who I remember with love and innocence,
his loving smile, his passion for bees, and nature,
all the national geographic magazines.
the time I spend in his shoulders walking around town,
playing around the house.
Legacy and Family

Cirel and Grandparents

My grandfather, a gentlemen and caring men, who respect me and care for me.
We played together, walked, shopped, and laughed.
During the time with my grandfather
I learned to respect, take care, and love family.
đź’‘
My grandmother, we were born on the same day March 30th. I am sure or the most special and bonding connection. My Grandmother supported my mother to raise me. My grandmother passed away after my 17th birthday.  We spend a lot of time together. We prayed every night, we sang, we brushed each other hair, she answers all my questions, she told me stories, she makes my pain and sickness go away with home remedies, she allows me to sit in her lap, she was loving and kind, she was strong and determinate, she got things done. She was always there for everyone in the family. She taught me how to peel potatoes, make arepas, and fry plantains.
She told me how much she loved me by actions and kind words.
 I recall her words:
"-no matter what others tell you, you are a good girl".

Ronica 80th birthday memory

My Sister Ronica (pronouns Ronisa). This post bring tears...
December 23th, 2019, day before Christmas, Ronica got hit by a car as a pedestrian.
My best 2019 Christmas present:
Sister Ronica survive! she is a live!

A strong working and independent woman,
who touches other lives more than she images
The connection to my father's routes, to my other half of the world,
the reason why I feel secure and I know who I am,
 my confident, my best friend.
We are 40 years apart, but this is only in age
because we are so much like each other.
We did not grow up together, but we walked the same,
we like similar food, and we enjoy our time together.

Since I came to USA in December 2006
we are being spending quality time learning about each other.
I learned to walk in ice roads with her, I exercise, eat healthier with her,
I learn to drive, speak English, clean houses,
and more with my sister Ronica.

She is being present all my life, by letters, surprise birthday
present boxes, birthday and Christmas cards.
She keeps impacting my life by showing me her strength,
perseverance, and discipline.

I do not have enough words to describe how much
she mean to me I love her!
I pray, and hope for quick and complete recovery.

Cirel happy times memory!

Bless with all the adults in my life who protect and nurture myself and confidence!
I want to thank you all extend family members, family friends, teachers, mentors
who protect, respect, love and support me to become the woman I am today!

My inspirations: Sofia a creative, fun, smart, lovely 10 years old Colombian girl.

Sofia is one of my youngest second cousin.
Since she was a toddler,
I share my love for books with her,
by taking some every time
I visit Grandma's town in Colombia.
About 2 years ago, Sofia draw this for me.
Sofia shared her love for books with me.
She was proud telling me that she can read, write and
enjoy time visiting the library in town.

A fantastic book that bring childhood memories!

Book full of life teaching experiences from a Seagull’s point of view.

My favorite quote:

"Don't believe what your eyes are telling you. All they show is limitation. Look with your understanding, find out what you already know, and you'll see the way to fly."
